Stacking the Shelves #25, Sunday Post #22, Sunday Salon #17

Hey bookish friends! How are things going for you? I am supposed to be at the lake with my family and youth group today, but I have another stinkin' viral infection. The doctor said I could go if I wore a mask whole time. Not thanks, that is not fun in this heat.

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

The Peter Swanson book is our book club book for July. I had Finding My People on reserve for three months and it came in this week. I am supposed to be reading my own books, which I will be, but I wasn't going to pass on this opportunity either 😉

Kindle Freebies:

Bought

None.

Other updates:

I added 11 books to my Goodreads shelf this week.

I finished 8 books this week, several I had been reading for several weeks. I still need to post the review for 2 of them, but one I can't post until later in the month, the blog tour date got moved.

Are you joining in the 20 books of Summer Challenge? I am and hope you will as well, you can see my post here.

My May reading wrap-up is here.

Also, personal updates that I share once a month on my family blog are here if you are interested.

I am also linking up with the Sunday Post. The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon.

What books have you added to your physical or virtual bookshelves? I would love to hear from you. Click on the icons below to join in on the fun. Have a great weekend!

    1. Ugh, Carla, I hope I do too! I have not read him before but it did sound interesting, and it's for book club so I will give it a try! Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Sounds as if you will be reading busily! I'm on a reading slump at the moment. Finding so much else to do. The book about Mr.Darcy wouldn't make my list: I'm a Jane Austen purist. I like to reread her books but never read modern travesties.

    1. Mae, LOL, I didn't love some of Jane Austin's works, but am willing to try other stuff, don't hate me, LOL!

    1. Thanks Gretchen. It could definitely be worse, on the bright side I have had plenty of time to catch up on some reading/blogging!

  5. That’s really cool – a cozy mystery based on a puzzle! I’ve not seen one like that before! Yes! Once those “on hold” books come in they shoot straight to the top of the list!

    1. I saw the mystery on someone else's Net Galley book haul last week and I HAD to try for it, and got it :) Yes, if I can squeeze the holds in with my other obligations, I will :)

  6. I hope you feel better soon. I've heard Marrying Mr. Darcy is very good. I hope you enjoy all these books!

  7. Nice list of books! This is my first week at Stacking the Shelves (and I'll be joining the Sunday Salon/Post with a different post too). I've noticed that many bloggers write one post for all the memes - since I'm new this week, it didn't occur to me to do that but it seems like an efficient way to go. my stacking shelves post this week: https://www.bookshelfjourneys.com/post/TBR-may-2022

  8. I am jealous of your copy of 8 Perfect Murders! I love Peter Swanson.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well, I'm rather under the weather myself today. Stomach bug or something.

Have a good week and take care or yourself!

    1. Yes, 8 Perfect Murders came from the Library, they have book club kits where we get 10 books in the kit :) I am sorry you are not feeling well either, I hope you are feeling better soon.

  11. I'll be interested to see what you think of Eight Perfect Murders. I have a hold on that book. Just finished Swan's book Nine Lives and I loved it so, that's what led me to request another of his. If I lived near you I'd ask if I could join your bookclub!

    1. If you lived close, Tina, we would love to have you! Right now there are four of us who meet regularly, but with the library kits we can easily have 10. I have a few who have said they are interested but haven't come to a meeting yet. I have not read Swanson yet, but I am hearing mixed things.

  15. The cover of Missing Pieces is too cute!

"I had Finding My People on reserve for three months and it came in this week. I am supposed to be reading my own books, which I will be, but I wasn't going to pass on this opportunity either." -- Yah, no. You can't pass on those kinds of opportunities.

So sorry you're sick and missing out on all the fun. :-(

    1. I know, when I saw it, I had too have a chance to read it! My books will always be there, right?? Yeah, I hate to be sick but it was a bad weekend as I missed stuff each day, but hopefully will be out and about again soon.

  18. Frustrating to have a viral infection that necessitates wearing a mask in the heat of summer. I hope it passes quickly.

We all need to find our people, I think. I've found mine here in the book blogosphere.

    1. Deb, yes, I'm not hanging outside in a mask. I also feel I have found my people in the blogosphere but do wish I could find some people that live close to me as well, LOL! I do get lonely at times. I have great friends, just none that live near me.

  20. Eight Perfect Murders sounds like it might be a good read for summer. I am impressed at reading eight books in one week. I read more than that but most of the books where children's books. Ha!

  21. So sorry to hear you're missing out on a trip to the lake. Hopefully you can get some reading done instead. Enjoy your new books!

  22. So sorry about the infection! I agree about not wanting to wear a mask all day outside in the heat! I don't mind them so much in the winter but it's tough when it's really hot. I hope you enjoy your new books and have a wonderful week!

  23. Find Your People sounds interesting. That's something I struggle with as a shy introvert who is, improbably, drawn to people who are even more shy and introverted.

I hope you feel better soon and congratulations on a successful home school career! Oh, and I hope you get the job!

    1. Thanks Jen, I appreciate the encouragement. I found out today I did not get the job, a bit crushed, but I will find something else. I really struggle with finding my people too and hope the book will help.
