Without Warning

Title: Without Warning

Series: Elite Guardians #2

Author: Lynette Eason

Genre: Suspense, Christian Fiction, Romance

Publisher: Revell

Source: Library

My review:

The second in the Elite Guardian series, Without Warning, focuses on Katie, one of the bodyguards. The books in this series could be read as stand-alone novels, but I recommend reading them in order since all four of bodyguards appear in each book.

One thing I am enjoying about the Elite Guardian series is that it centers around four kick-butt female bodyguards. Each lady has a different skill set, which makes them stronger as a team.

I enjoyed Katie's story. I love that Daniel's niece is the one who hires Katie to be Daniel's bodyguard. Daniel goes along with it, not because he is weak (hello, former marine), but because his niece is worried about him! He gets serious hero points for appeasing his niece and wanting to reassure her.

While I figured out who the bad guys were about mid-way through the story, I still had a lot of doubts and wasn't completely sure until all was revealed. Another action-packed winner from Eason!

★★★★/5

Synopsis (Goodreads):

Katie Singleton, a partner with the Elite Guardians Protection Agency, stumbles upon her next assignment quite by accident. Spotting blue lights at a familiar restaurant, she stops to investigate, only to discover that owner Daniel Matthews has become the target of someone who will go to any lengths to put him out of business.

Daniel might be concerned, but he's not convinced that a bodyguard—and a female one at that—is necessary. A new attack and his niece's urgings are enough to make him reconsider. He and Katie must figure out who's behind the intimidation and threats—before a would-be killer strikes again.

  3. It's fun that all four bodyguards appear in each book, but that they each also have their own book.
