My Review:
You Make It Feel Like Christmas has a beautiful, eye-catching cover. It is a quick read, and not just because it is a novella.
Starr Lewis is a bit grinchy when she goes home for the holidays. She has just lost her job, is embarrassed, and does not want to tell her "perfect" family. To make matters worse, her sister is marrying her ex-boyfriend, and she has to be in the wedding!
Waylon is Starr's brother's best friend. He is home alone for the holidays. So, of course, he is invited to join the Lewis family for all their festivities. He also agrees to be a friend to Starr during this difficult time.
You know what happens from here. It's a bit of insta-love, lots of family drama, and a bit of a cheese factor. It is not quite Hallmark level, but close. It was a great escape and a cute holiday read.
I committed to reviewing You Make It Feel Like Christmas for Bethany House. Since my copy is lost in the mail, I grabbed a copy from the library to fulfill my commitment. I was not required to provide a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Synopsis (Goodreads):
It's the most wonderful time of the year--for everyone except Starr Lewis.
As
if going home for the holidays jobless and single wasn't bad enough,
she's dragged into a holiday season full of activities leading up to her
sister's uber-romantic Christmas Eve wedding--to Starr's ex-boyfriend.
But when her brother's best friend, Waylon Emmerson, attends their
family Thanksgiving, she starts to wonder if maybe coming home for
Christmas isn't so bad after all.
As Starr finds the perfect
distraction in helping Waylon make over his late mother's Christmas
shop, the most wonderful time of the year works its magic and the spark
between them grows. But with the holidays fast approaching, Starr must
decide what she wants out of life after the gifts are unwrapped and the
ornaments are put away--to go back to New York City or to open her heart
to a love that will last beyond Christmas Day?
Sometimes escapist reading is just what you need! Especially with a guaranteed happy ending. :D Happy New Year, Cindy!
ReplyDeleteLark, SO true!! Happy New Year!!!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy Toni's books, just the right amount of romance. Thanks for the review.
ReplyDeletePraying you and yours have a wonderfully blessed New Year!
Honestly, if I were in Starr's situation, I'd probably be a bit grinchy too, lol. I'm glad Waylon was there to help. ;) It sounds like a fun holiday romance. I read my first one last year. I planned to read another one this year, but I'll have to put it on hold, lol. I'll add this to the list of choices.

DeleteThis looks cute.
ReplyDeleteCheryl, it was!
DeleteBetween Toni's and Sarah's, I love that BH released a couple festive (which I base on their cover art since I have to read them yet!) titles for the year. :)
ReplyDeleteRissi, they do do a great job with their cover art! It is very eye-catching!
