Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

I finished four books this week. While my blogging schedule has been off, my reading schedule keeps on going. I also saw an Instagram Post this week about a lady who feeds her family on $300 a month!!! This inspired me and sent me on a rabbit trail to see if I could come anywhere near this. She does all her shopping at Aldi. While my research is not complete, it is not cheaper (on the whole) to shop at my Aldi, than my Wal-Mart. She is in CA, I think, and I am in OH. While I will not get as low as $300 a month, we do some organic stuff, and specialty stuff because of food allergies/intolerances, I do want to find ways to cut back where we can.
What you might have missed on the blog this week:
Book Review: If The Boot Fits by Karen Witemeyer
Book Review: When You Look at Me by Pepper Basham
Book Review: Joy of Heaven by Robert Palmer
Top Ten Tuesday: Priority Books for 2026
Book Review: The Bell Tolls at Traeger Hall by Jaime Jo Wright
Book Review: Miss Newbury's List by Megan Walker

I am always fascinated by ways to save money, especially with food purchases. I hope that your job hours work out well for you. I’m not reading the book club selection this month because I won’t be here for it.
ReplyDeleteCutting back on groceries for me is tough. It's where I spend most of my money monthly. I buy primarily organic food, which is always more expensive. I also shop at an independently owned grocery store. I hope your vertigo goes away and you're able to enjoy your weekend and week. Also hope your work schedule works out for the best! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope that you get better soon.
ReplyDeleteWe shop at Aldi here in the UK. Over Easter we got a small bag of carrots for 4p. And a small bag of potatoes for 8p. There are some excellent deals if you get the timing right!
Have a great weekend!

So sorry to hear of the vertigo - I hope you soon feel better. And best of luck with saving money on the food bill, prices seem to going up constantly at the moment. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI have been working on our grocery bill since groceries are crazy right now. Lol. I have us down to like 375-425 a month, depending. I consider it a challenge. Lol. I hope that you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI hate vertigo. I have battled it twice before I realized it was coming from me wearing earplugs at night to drown out my hubby’s snoring. I hope you can get rid of it soon and also hope you can maintain your work hours. Have a great week Cindy.
ReplyDeleteHope the vertigo eases. And that you don't lose out on those work hours. Hang in there!
