While this is the second book in the Wind River Chronicles series it can be read as a stand-alone novel. However, a few scenes will make more sense if you have read the first book.

I love the cover of The First Songs of Christmas. It is what drew me to this book. I have never read anything by Nancy Wolgemuth but enjoyed her writing style in this book.

This is my first time reading a book by Liz Tolsma and I look forward to reading her other works. While A Picture of Hope is part of the Heroines of WWII series it is designed to be read alone. The books in the series can be read in any order.
