If you have not read Things We Didn't Say by Amy Lynn Green, then I HIGHLY recommend it! I have never been a big fan of historical fiction, but her book definitely started a trend toward picking up and reading more.
"But once someone reaches the point marked 'Overwhelmed,' even basic upkeep bows to the kids' needs, and every loose hinge or carpet stain threatens to unhinge a person like Mara, the responsible one. The one who spent a lifetime convincing people she could manage fine." Facing the Dawn by Cynthia Ruchti.
“You want to be careful with that one. Some puzzles refuse to be solved.” The Last Piece by Terrie Todd
He said he’d learned that Jesus Christ is the last piece to every puzzle. I thought that was interesting, coming from a guy whose artwork was used to create jigsaw puzzles. The Last Piece

Some lovely quotes, I'm going to have to read Castle of refuge to find out about that Badger
ReplyDeleteAnita-it had quite a few humorous parts, I hope you enjoy it!!
DeleteShared the puzzle one with a friend. Thanks
ReplyDeleteYay! That's fun, it was a great book.
DeleteThese are all great quotes!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deanna!
DeleteLove these! Especially the Pepper Basham ones. :)
ReplyDeleteLark, YES! That book (Hope Between the Pages) had a TON of great quotes!! I read it on an ebook and immediately bought the paperback because I loved it so much. That is something that I had never done before!
DeleteI still haven't read either of Amy's books but it's in my plans! Just have to make some. Also, Jessica's 'Outback' book is all kinds of funny. :)
ReplyDeleteRissi, yes, Amy's books are great, but it is hard finding time for all of them. So many GREAT books out there. I loved Jessica's book and look forward to reading more by her too (have to create time!).
DeleteThose are so sweet! (and funny, in the case of Potato Head) Surprisingly, I haven't read any of these...but now I can add them to my list!
ReplyDeleteSome of my fave quotes are from The Secret Garden, Pride and Prejudice, and the Chronicles of Narnia. So many books, so many fantastic quotes!
Wren, yay, glad you liked them! I had fun with it. I loved the Secret Garden and should go back and read it, that is my plan for Pride and Prejudice as well, it's been so long I'm not even sure I have read that one at all (face palm!).
DeleteI haven't read any of these books but these are some good quotes. The Hope between the pages quote is especially true to me.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog. Have a lovely day.
Thanks Lissa, I appreciate you taking the time to pop in :)
DeleteYou found so many beautiful quotes! I especially liked "Any story that begins with a library is bound to be an excellent tale." Hope Between the Pages by Pepper Basham
ReplyDeleteYes, it's one of my favorites!
Delete"Any story that begins with a library is bound to be an excellent tale." Wow. Yes. I completely agree!
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteThat first one is very relatable. I'm a neat freak with a kid and a dog. I can't cope with the chaos. Every surface in my house is sticky for some reason!
ReplyDeleteThat one hit me hard too! I could totally relate and hadn't expected it from a fiction novel. It was powerful.
DeleteI was intimidated by the prompt as well, so I ended up not participating. I don't keep a quote journal or anything as well, but I think it sounds like a good idea. I should look into that.
ReplyDeleteKami, I think about that too, but it almost feels like more work. I know there is a way to get the quotes from your Kindle to Goodreads when you read ebooks, but I haven't figured out how to do it.
DeleteBrilliant quotes. Love them.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT shows readers on the covers.
Thanks Marianne! Will pop over to check out your post :)
DeleteI really need to read THINGS WE DIDN'T SAY. I have a copy of the book and I've heard excellent things about it, so I really have NO excuse not to read it already. Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Thursday)!
Susan, I LOVED it. I ended up gifting it to several people for Christmas last year because I loved it so much. It was one of my stand out reads from 2020.
