Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is: Indie Freebie (submitted by @dark.shelf.of.wonders and Books Are The New Black). I do read a lot of Indie authors, so hopefully this will be a pretty easy topic this week. The hard part will be narrowing it down. My time was short this week, so no books, but if you click on the authors name, it will take you to their Goodreads page. All authors write clean books (minimal to no language or spice). What month are we wrapping up? With being sick at the beginning of the month, I got to read more books this month, and had quite a few 5-star reads. My Review:

Even if I Perish is told through a mix of letters and the character's perspective. It is based on the true accounts of Mary Cornish during WWII, and the CORB program that sent children from England to other countries. It is a harrowing story of loss, devastation, determination, and faith.

Hey my bookish friends! How was your week? We hiked again last weekend, and my son started college on Monday, after taking 3 years off of school and just working. It was another busy week and Thursday I noticed the toddler I nanny was getting sick, so yesterday (Friday), my boss ended up giving me the day off, as the baby and her husband was sick! I feel like I am coming down with something, please pray I don't get sick, or it goes away quickly, as we are going to TN next weekend for a sibling reunion so my mom can see us all together again before she passes (terminal cancer, she may have a year or two, but wants to travel now, while she still feels up to it). It has been 13 years since we were all together, and one of my nephews wasn't even born then. Today we are planning to do another hike, and my son is off so he can join us! Other than that and Church tonight, I plan to read, blog, and relax this weekend.

November 2024 Reading Wrap-Up

Here we are for another monthly wrap up fa la la la la la la la la. I have no idea how it is already December. It's hard to slow down and enjoy anything when time is marching along at warp speed. I love the cover of April's Promise by Terrie Todd. However, it doesn't hold a candle to the beautiful story within.

Hey bookish friends! How are you all doing? Today we moved my daughter back to college. It was SO much easier than in previous years because we are so much closer! We went there and back in the same day, plus she is only an hour and a half away, she didn't have to take as much stuff! It was a long week. I plan to read, blog, go to Church, and rest for the remainder of the weekend. It's going to be odd trying to get into a new routine again.

December Reading Wrap-up

As I pause to reflect on the month of December, I am thankful I found more time to read than I did in November. I don't know what my reading life will look like in the new year since I am going to be getting a part-time job, but I hope to still have a decent amount of time for reading and blogging!

My review:

It's been a while since I read a novel by Terrie Todd. I had forgotten how she has a gift of grabbing your attention from the opening scene. Lilly's Promise begins at a funeral that sets the course of the novel.

Well, it's been a few weeks since I said I was Taking a small break. Things have taken quite a bit of time and we are still not done. It will be weeks before everything is settled and I am trying to be okay with that 😂 I will try to visit your blogs over the next few days, I have MISSED you all, but still feeling a little overwhelmed. Best of the Best 2021

Today I am participating in the Top 10 of 2021 hosted by Kimberly Faye Reads. Today's topic is the best of the best books. I am excited to share my favorite reads of 2021. They were not necessarily released in 2021, I just read them in 2021. Be prepared for an emotional ride. I loved the idea of this book because I love doing jigsaw puzzles. The storyline is unique and I have never read anything like it. While I am not a huge Historical Fiction fan, Terrie Todd's books always amaze me.
