Top Ten Tuesday-Book Quote Freebie

Happy Tuesday, my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is book is book quote freebie. At first I was going to skip this week's prompt and do something different, but I decided to give it a go. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

Favorite quotes from books I have read:

All Laurel wanted was a few minutes of peace and quiet from a day full of chores to disappear into the pages of a good book. What was the use of being a grown woman if she couldn't even hide long enough to read one chapter? -Laurel's Dream by Pepper Basham

"This isn't a book that will move you upward, but one that will move you inward, to the heart of things."- Growing Slow:Lessons on Un-hurrying Your Heart From an Accidental Farm Girl by Jennifer Dukes Lee

We spend vast amounts of time and energy crafting a thesis in our heads of how life should play out. Then Almighty God spends an incredibly brief amount of time blowing our thesis to bits.-A Delirious Summer by Ray Blackston

Why you felt it was imperative for me to leave my house in a traveling trunk is still beyond me. You did see Zayne and Hamilton drop it, didn't you?-A Most Peculiar Circumstance by Jen Turano

A hatchet, A Bible, and a revolver were Lily's best friends-and Cousin Clem next door with his shotgun.-Behind Love's Wall by Carrie Fancett Pagels

Letters bearing bad news deserved fiery deaths for the trouble they bring. -Fresh Scars by Donna Mumma

It's like the abandoned film set for Hart of Dixie and Gilmore Girls and Sweet Magnolias all wrapped up in one.-The Buy-In by Emma St. Clair

Today was not going to be the day they died-not if she had anything to say about it.-Life Flight by Lynette Eason

That's what I love about reading: one tiny thing will interest you in a book, and that tiny thing will lead you onto another book, and another bit there will lead you onto a third book. -The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Schaffer and Annie Barrows

The best stories are worth the risk of finding out the ending, you know? And sometimes, they're just a beginning to the next story.-Jane by the Book by Pepper Basham

I did a similar post to this back in November and you can read those quotes here.

What did you do for this week? I would love for you to share in the comments. To see what other topics our bookish friends are doing this week click on the image below.

  4. These are all great quotes, Cindy. I had to do something different this week as I never pull quotes out of a book, but I should start doing that.

    1. Wendy, I don't do it for every book, just quotes that really catch me. Usually I will put them in the review.

  11. I always enjoy a good quote from a book and wish I could remember where they all are. Sometimes I use Goodreads to help me find them. Thanks for visiting.
