Happy Tuesday, my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is a freebie. I decided to list ten of the authors I plan to try this year! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.
10 Authors I have been saying I am going to try and finally plan to try this year with the book I plan to read:
Chris Fabry-this also goes with my goal to read more male authors:
Sarah M. Eden:
Mimi Matthews:
Erynn Mangum: As many books of hers that I own (six) I really need to start them this year!
Tea Cooper: Another author I own several (three) books that I need to read.
Joanne Bischof:
Okay my bookish friends, I KNOW there were other authors I said I needed to read more of this year, when I was leaving comments on your blogs. If you happen to think of one or know one I would enjoy, will you leave the name and book in the comments?
What is your topic for this week? I would love for you to share in the comments. To see

I don't think I have heard of any of these authors! I should write up a list of authors I plan to read more of this year too.
ReplyDeleteJoanne, it will help me to remember, LOL! I need all the help I can get!
DeleteI hope you enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteMy post, if you’d like to take a look: https://readerbuzz.blogspot.com/2023/01/its-new-year-so-shall-we-try-for-happy.html
Deb, thanks, me too! I would love to read your post, I always enjoy stopping by your blog!
DeleteI love this topic! Sara Eden is popular, but I've only read one of her books. I liked it though.
ReplyDeleteKami, yes, I have heard a ton about her. I even had a book out from the library, but was told to read them in a particular order, so sent it back, LOL. I am waiting on my copy of her first book to get to my library.
DeleteI’ve heard some good things about Dogwood.
ReplyDeleteMy post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-bookish-confessions/
Lydia, so have I. I was determined to read it last year (failed) but plan to read it in February!
DeleteI hope you get to read and fall in love with these authors this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deanna, I do plan to read them...hopefully enjoy them as well :)
DeleteFun list! Of these, I've only read Bischoff, but several of the others are familiar to me too.
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT this week... I focused on swashbucklers!
Okay Rachel, what is a swashbuckler?! I will be visiting in a moment to figure it out!
DeleteGreat list! I haven't read any of these authors yet either, but I hope you'll end up loving them all!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lindsey!
DeleteI hope you find some new favourites among these authors.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2023/01/31/top-ten-tuesday-405/
Thanks! Me too :)
DeleteI want to read that Micelle Griep novel this year, too, and I really enjoyed Sarah Eden's Seeking Persephone! :D
ReplyDeleteLark, let's keep each other accountable, LOL! Then maybe it will happen. I did put a hold on Seeking Persephone at the library. I don't know when it will come in, but I will make an effort to get to it when it does. I own Michelle Griep's book, so no excuses there!
DeleteFpr what it's worth, my 85 year old mom liked the Siren Sussex!
ReplyDeleteLOL, lots of people have raved about it.
DeleteGreat topic today! I hope you enjoy Mimi Mathews!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy!
DeleteGreat topic Cindy! I need to do this on my next Freebie TTT. The Cartographers Secret has a beautiful cover. Sometimes that will hook me in! I might need to explore that one :)
ReplyDeleteShellie, there is another freebie soon, LOL, you will have your chance!
DeleteLove Mimi Matthews! Hope you do too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel, I have heard a lot of great things.
DeleteAll new authors to me - but that's the fun of blog hopping on Tuesdays! Which do you think you'll actually tackle first? :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit & have a terrific week.
Terrie @ Bookshelf Journeys
Hi Terrie, Dogwood is slated for February, so should be first from this list!!
DeleteOh, The Siren of Sussex looks really interesting. I hope you manage to read all these and enjoy them. Have a great week. - Katie
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie!
DeleteI've seen SO many people RAVE about Mimi's books. Someday I should try one. Also, Joanne's novels are so lovely and unique. Happy 2023 discovering of new authors! :)
ReplyDeleteRissi, I have heard people raving about Mimi's books too. I won the second of the series, so I thought I would read this one first.
DeleteI am not familiar with any of these authors either. I hope you find some favorites in the batch.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne!
DeleteGreat minds DEFINITELY think alike! I did this topic, too, and got a good laugh when I saw what Jana did today. Ha ha. So much for feeling original :)
ReplyDeleteI've read at least one book from Fabry, Eden, and Cooper. I especially like Cooper's books. I hope you enjoy all these authors when you get to them.
Happy TTT!
Thanks Susan!
DeleteThere are so man authors to try!
ReplyDeleteGreg, so true!
DeleteI hope you end up enjoying them all! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzanne!
DeleteSIX Mangum books, wow. I'm guilty of stockpiling unread authors a little, but I don't think I've ever gotten that many without trying one. Was there a BOGO/flash sale or what?
ReplyDeleteThe Lady and the Lionheart looks so good; I've seen it before on TTT but forgot about it. This time I'm adding it to the official TBR. I've read a handful of novels about circuses but none earlier than the 1930s to date.
Mimi Matthews is on my want-to-read-in-'23 list too, I just picked up that one and its sequel at the library.
I found her books at a used book store (on separate occasions) for dirt cheap prices and they looked so fun! I really think I will enjoy them when I read them. I have the sequel of the Mimi Matthews book, I won an annotated copy, and just got the first one from the library, so fingers crossed I will get to it soon!
DeleteI won an annotated copy
DeleteWhat!! That sounds amazing, lemme just add that to my Wishlist of Bookish Impossible Things...
And ahh, now I understand the stockpile. You gotta take advantage of dirt-cheap when you can.
Exactly! That is also why I have so many books, in general, that I haven't read, LOL. I RARELY buy anything new, can't afford to buy very many very often.
DeleteYou have made some great picks, and I see some new-to-me names that I will have to be on the watch for. I have only recently started reading Tea Cooper's books, and I have really enjoyed them thus far. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI haven't read any of these, but I hope you love them!
ReplyDeleteThanks Aj!
DeleteGreat list! Matthews would make my list if I tackled this topic. I like Griep's work. She contributed to The Daughters of the Mayflower series, which I thoroughly enjoy. Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl! I am looking forward to Griep's books, I think I will enjoy them.
DeleteHallo, Hallo Cindy,
ReplyDeleteAh. Sleeman. Mum loves her Love Inspired stories (as we share a passion for those stories together and of read them in tandem) however, I read one of her other releases (and blogged about it) which pushed me too far afield. I was quite shocked really by it and I couldn't read the sequel either - it was one of those few times I had to take a hard pass on a book for review consideration.
Sarah M. Eden has been on my radar for awhile now. As I think it was through the CFRS events where I first discovered her as an author. (ie. Christian Fiction Reading Safari) I was sad when those events over Summer closed as they were such a strong part of my life as I loved sharing my pursuit of INSPY Lit. You might have already found my *70 Authors Challenge* page on my blog which is full of INSPY authors, series and stories. I need to overhaul and update it -- along with my Story Vault. Both are on my need to do list for Spring cleaning on my blog! lol :O
I want to read "A Holiday by Gaslight" first by Mimi Mathews. I meant to gather a copy ages ago when it first released and I think my library bought a copy for me to read, too. At some point I need to sort that out!
Biscof's series I read was the Blackbird Mountain. I also reviewed those on my blog. You should be able to find the ones I've reviewed by using my search box but I don't want to share links in case this comment gets blocked! :(
Michelle Griep has also been on my list of #mustread, too. I see we like similar authors and graviate towards similar stories and authors, too! I've always been a hybrid reader so you'll always find a balance of INSPY and mainstream stories on my blog. I look forward to browsing through your archives and seeing which authors we've read and reviewed in common! Maybe we share some favourites!? That would be awesome. Especially as my INSPY reviews never really get a lot of comments or attention despite how much I try to promote them.
Thanks for swinging by my blog and sharing your support for me and my family. I truly appreciated it and am thankful I can start returning the favour and start visiting again myself. Many blessings to you and yours.
Hi Jorie, I used to read a TON of Love Inspired but went through a phase where they all started to sound the same. I feel like they have come a long way and I have started reading them again. I prefer Inspirational fiction, clean reads. Cursing is triggering to me and I try to avoid it where I can. I will spend some time exploring your blog this evening and try to find some of your favorites :)
