I finished 5 books this week, three physical, one audio, and DNFd one. I finished one book last night, so the review will be up tomorrow.
Side note (not a political post!) we are praying for the government to come to a financial agreement and open back up. I don't know if anyone who reads my blog is affected by the shutdown (I hope not), but my husband works for the government and we are in the boat of working but not getting paid. We are doing alright, and hope that if you are affected, that you are as well. If you are a praying person, please pray for this to be resolved quickly. This is the longest they have ever been shutdown (previously 35 days).

Good luck with the government shut-down. It’s bad for everyone but obviously worse for those whose salaries are withheld. I’m afraid it will take more than prayers to help our emmiserated country and the many victims of the current regime.

DeleteUgh. You are in a rough situation. I do not understand the whole mess with the government. I am so sorry that your husband is not getting paid, and I hope that the contract will go through as the other parties' home quickly sells.

DeleteIt’s good to treat yourself sometimes! We took a special donation at church on November 2nd and were able to raise a significant amount of money for those impacted in our community by the shutdown. I’m glad to know that so many families will be able to get meals. Still Waters was so good! I still need to post that one on Instagram but it’s up on my blog.

DeleteGoing through house sales stuff and a shutdown is hard - I wish you peace and strength as you work your way through it all. We are trying to sell my parents-in-law's house at the moment, on the second buyer now after the first fell through. It's to pay for their care home so it's a bit of a worry! I have acquired a lot of books via NetGalley this month, it seems. I do a round-up on the first of the next month so watch my blog for the horror that will have built up by then!!
