Stacking the Shelves #73, Sunday Post #70, Sunday Salon #64

Hey bookish friends! How are things going for you? I ave no idea where this week went. I spent half the morning running errands, just trying to catch up, then part of the afternoon getting my grocery order put in. I have BIG plans to do nothing the rest of the weekend 😂 again. I most likely will be going to church in the morning, but other than that, I am done. My son woke up feeling like junk this morning, hopefully he is just exhausted, and the rest of us stay healthy!

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

NetGalley: None.

Library: My library hold for Chautona's book came in and I happened upon the one on Anne of Green Gables while I was grabbing books for the kids I nanny.

Kindle Freebies: None.

Book Mail: None 😢

Bought: None.

Other updates:

I took some books off my TBR list that I am no longer interested in. I also realized that books from a particular author I had on my physical shelves had words in them that I did not want to read, so I have cleared 3 books off my physical shelves as well, plus 2 I read and didn't enjoy. I finished 4 books again this week.

What you might have missed on the blog:

Book Review: Love Under Construction

Book Review: Sprinkled with Sabotage

Top Ten Tuesday: Most Recommended Books

Book Review: Battered and Torn

Book Review: Echoes of Titanic

First Line Friday #91-The Words We Lost

I am also linking up with the Sunday Post. The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon.

What books have you added to your physical or virtual bookshelves? I would love to hear from you. Click on the icons below to join in on the fun. Have a great weekend!

  1. Anne of Green Gables is my favorite series from my childhood. My friend Amy and I used to play Anne of Green Gables at recess in elementary school. I was Anne and she was Diana.

    2. I am definitely getting this one for Eleanor. I can't wait for her to start reading my old dog-earred copies of the whole series!

    3. Sarah, that is super fun!! I hope she enjoys them as much as you did!

  2. Sadly, I am having to clear my shelves even more now that the basement will be an office. That means taking my beloved books to used book stores and library sales, etc. Since I read mostly library or ebooks these days, I should let them go gently into that good night. Oh, well....Have a good week.

  4. How did such objectionable books make it onto your shelves in the first place? I thought adults could manage to read bad words without horror, if they were in an intellectually good place. You should tell us what books you are so offended by.

    1. Mae, curse words are triggering to me, even mild ones. I try to avoid them as often as I can. I have heard wonderful things about the author, and I am sure her books are fine, they are just not for me.

  5. Oh no, I hope your son's feeling better. Anne of Green Gables seems like a series that has been beloved by many people growing up! I never read them but kind of wish I had!

    1. Greg, thanks. It's never too late to read Anne of Green Gables, but I do wonder if I would get the same enjoyment as an adult?!

  6. I like how you cleared off books you are no longer interested in reading. That is my plan for the books in my TBR Challenge at the end of the year---if they are unread and I don't feel interested in reading them in the near future, then off they will go.

I hope you get a chance to read and relax this week. And, hopefully, your son will feel better soon.

I love your plan of doing nothing - that is sort of my plan too!!

    1. Erin, sometimes we just need those days, LOL! I am going into another long week, with travel, so I am resting while I can.

  8. I often go through my Goodreads shelves and remove books I no longer want to read or those not available at my library. There are too many others to fuss much over the ones which are hard to find. Ha!

  9. It's past time for me to review & edit my extensive TBR list. I think if it's been on my list over 5 years, I'm probably not going to get around to it. AND, I'm in the process of trying to read from the 100+ books on my shelves but keep getting distracted by the new release shelf at the library. Well, I guess I'll never run out of reading material!! :) Thanks for the visit....

    1. Terrie, LOL, the struggle is real. I went in the library yesterday to pick up my hold. I saw the new releases and turned my head away, I have too many books out on loan to grab any that only have a 2 week time frame to read in, LOL!

  11. I periodically clear my shelves of books that no longer interest me and donate them to the library book sale... usually end up buying another title or two in the process!

    1. LOL, I used to be, but we have moved too often for that. Now, i try to pass on the ones I will not read again so someone else can enjoy them.
