Summer Reading challenges wrap-up post 2025

In addition to the 20 Books of Summer Challenge and Big Book Challenge, two of my blogging friends made a summer bingo challenge. I wanted to support them, so I attempted to find books that fit in their categories as well. Even though these challenges run a few more days, I am not likely to squeeze anything else in, so I am posting a few days early.

My original post for the 20 Books of Summer Challenge and Big Book challenge is here.

The books I read for 20 Books of Summer from the original list:

  1. Charming the Troublemaker by Pepper Basham
  2. A Match for Emma by Pepper Basham
  3. An Honorable Deception by Roseanna M. White
  4. Turtles in the Road by Rhonda Rhea
  5. The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion Vol. 3 by Beth Brower
  6. The Tangled Tale of The Woolgathering Castoffs by Sharon J. Mondragón
  7. Swinging by a Star by Janice Thompson
  8. Letter Perfect by Cathy Marie Hake
I completed 8/12 that I put on my list. However, I read 47 books for the three months of the challenge, so still winning.

The Books I read for the Big Book Challenge:
  1. An Honorable Deception by Roseanna M. White
  2. Blessing Bentley by Chautona Havig
  3. North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell
  4. Bittersweet by Cathy Marie Hake (currently reading it, so counting it as a win)

I read all three that I put on my list, plus an extra!

My blogger friend Kav from Kav's Best Reads designed a Best Read's Summer Bingo and will be doing a giveaway once the challenge ends. You can see all the details here.

Here is the bingo board:

The second blogger friend is Carrie from Reading is My Super Power. She designed two different challenges, The first is reading Across the USA. Since it took me over a year to do this challenge, there is no way I am going to attempt it for this summer. Her second challenge seemed a bit easier to me, and it is The Summer Road Trip Challenge. She is also doing a giveaway at the end of the summer. You can see all the details for both challenges here. These are the prompts I completed 13/25

  • book about a road trip- If All Else Sails by Emma St. Clair
  • book with ‘summer’ in the title-The Summer House by Lauren K. Denton

  1. How fun! Great job on all of the challenges! My husband and I made our own summer reading challenge this year, which we will wrap up in a few weeks with the meteorological end of summer. I changed some of my books partway through but we both met the main goals we set and it has been fun to share this with him.
