The Message Women’s Devotional Bible

Author: Eugene Peterson

Publisher: Nav Press

Genre: Bible, Christian Nonfiction

Source: Front Gate Media

My Review:

I love Bibles, and today, I am talking about The Message Women's Devotional Bible. The Message is one of the paraphrased versions of the Bible, it comes across as more blunt than some other versions.

Stacking the Shelves #180 Sunday Post #177 Sunday Salon #171

Hey my bookish friends! How was your week? I did a lot of relaxing last weekend, and walking (almost 6 miles), so I did not get any packing done, oops. But, I did get some done on Tuesday. On Wednesday the contract on our house fell through, so it is back on the market again. We had two showings last night (Friday), and we will see what the weekend brings. While our house was being shown my husband and I went to Barnes and Noble 😁. On my agenda this weekend is some packing, my daughter is coming home to spend the night this afternoon, and will leave first thing tomorrow, more relaxing, hopefully some walking...

Winning the Gentleman

Title: Winning the Gentleman

Series: Hearts on the Heath #2

AuthorKristi Ann Hunter

Narrator: Ann Marie Gideon

Publisher: Bethany House

Genre: Historical, Christian Fiction, Regency, Romance

Source: Hoopla

My Review:

Winning the Gentleman is the second book in the Hearts on the Heath series. While it could be read as a stand-alone novel, I recommend reading Vying for the Viscount first, as that is where we are first introduced to Aaron Whitworth (our mmc).

Top Ten Tuesday-Children's book edition

Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic isGenre freebie (Pick any genre you’d like and build a list around it. You can even narrow the topic if you’d like, such as: thrillers with unreliable narrators, fantasy romance with fae characters, or historical romance with suspense elements.) For those who might not know, I started a new nanny position at the end of June. The girls are 22 months and 5 months old. Well, thankfully, the toddler LOVES reading, so today I am going to share the books I read on repeat! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

Top Ten Tuesday-Children's books on repeat

Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown-this has always been a favorite of mine

The Island Bookshop

Title: The Island Bookshop

Author: Roseanna M. White

Publisher: Guideposts

Genre: Contemporary Fiction, Christian Romance

Source: Library

My Review:

The Island Bookshop is not Roseanna M. White's normal genre to write, although she didn't stray too far from her historical roots. There are chapters dedicated to the families' past, which help them to unravel some secrets.

Spell the Month in books August 2025

I am happy to be participating in this monthly meme again! The last time I did it was December 2023!! When i saw that this month's theme is favorite authors, I knew I had to do a post. I love showcasing my favorites!

It is hosted by Jana @ Reviews From the Stacks. Here is how she describes the meme: Spell the Month in Books is a linkup hosted on Reviews From the Stacks on the first Saturday of each month.
