Top Ten Tuesday-Chunkster Books

Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic isBooks with a High Page Count (Share those doorstop books!) I think "high" page count is subjective, so I am going to go with 400+ pages as those are books that count toward the "Big Book Challenge" and the limit of what some of my book club members will read for our meetings. So, let's see what I come up with today, I know I don't read as many chunkster books as I used to. I did not include anthologies or Bibles in my list. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

Top Ten Tuesday-Chunkster books I have read and enjoyed

North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell 521 pages 3-star read-not sure I should say I "enjoyed" this one or not.

Enchanting the Heiress

Title: Enchanting the Heiress

Series: Hearts on the Heath #3

AuthorKristi Ann Hunter

Publisher: Bethany House

Genre: Historical, Christian Fiction, Regency, Romance

Source: Library

My Review:

Enchanting the Heiress is the third and final book in the Hearts on the Heath series. It can be read as a standalone novel, but I recommend reading the first two books, or at least the second, as Jonas and Harriet are first introduced in those books. It will give you a broader understanding of their character and interactions with their friends.

Stacking the Shelves #181 Sunday Post #178 Sunday Salon #172

Hey my bookish friends! How was your week? Mine was fairly uneventful, busy and tiring. We had some nice mornings, so I was able to get out and walk before work. This weekend we are cleaning/doing some errands, then we hope to go for a long walk/hike on Sunday.

All's Well that Friends Well

Title: All's Well That Friends Well

Series: Lucky in Love #2

Author: Gracie Ruth Mitchell

Narrators: Ellen Quay & Eric Fox

Publisher: Independently Published, Audible Audio

Genre: Contemporary Romance, RomCom

Source: Net Galley

My Review:

All's Well that Friends Well is the second book in the Lucky in Love series. This series is about a sibling group, and while I will always recommend reading them in order, this one could be read as a standalone. The first book is about Indie, and this one is about Juliette, and they have two other siblings, Aurora and Silas.

Top Ten Tuesday-No book slump here

Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic isBooks Guaranteed to Put an End to Your Book Slump (Which books would you recommend to someone (it’s me, I’m someone) dealing with the dreaded book slump? No book is grabbing their attention or making them excited to sit down and read and they are suffering for it.) I can't guarantee that these books would get everyone out of a book slump, but these are books that would get me out of a book slump. I was originally going to just go with romcoms, but I decided to be a bit more versatile. The thing they all have in common: the stories stuck with me. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

North and South

Title: North and South

Author: Elizabeth Gaskell

Publisher: Penguin Books

Genre: Classic, Historical Fiction, Victorian era, romance

Source: Kindle Own

My Review:

I finally did it! I finally read North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell!! Did I love it? No. Did I hate it? No. It had an interesting storyline that kept me invested. I did, at times, feel the length of the novel and felt it could have been shorter, LOL!
