Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is: Books
Guaranteed to Put an End to Your Book Slump (Which books would you recommend
to someone (it’s me, I’m someone) dealing with the dreaded book slump? No book
is grabbing their attention or making them excited to sit down and read and
they are suffering for it.) I can't guarantee that these books would get everyone out of a book slump, but these are books that would get me out of a book slump. I was originally going to just go with romcoms, but I decided to be a bit more versatile. The thing they all have in common: the stories stuck with me. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.
Top Ten Tuesday-books to get me out of a book slump
Juliette and The Monday Mandates by Becky Doughty
Criss Cross by C.C. Warrens
The Unlikely Yarn of the Dragon Lady by Sharon J. Mondragón
The Souls of Lost Lake by Jaime Jo Wright
A Game of Hearts by Joanna Barker
Twice Sold Tales by Chautona Havig
The All-American by Susie Finkbeiner
Double Take by Lynette Eason
Miles Bailey Gets Down on One Knee by Jen Atkinson
Some Like It Scot by Pepper Basham
Everything's Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh
All's Fair in Love and Blackmail by Gracie Ruth Mitchell
The problem with posts like these is I am trying not to share about the same books all the time! I included a mix of contemporary stories and historical stories, and some bookish books (Twice Sold Tales), suspense. Hopefully you find something that would get you out of a book slump. The biggest cure for me is to find a book that cleanses my palate from whatever I have been reading that is leading to the slump, typically a book with humor, or that is lighter in nature will do it.Have you read any of these? I would love for you to share in the comments. To see what other topics our bookish friends are doing this week click on the image below.
The Souls of Lost Lake sure sounds good.
ReplyDeleteLydia, it is SO good!
DeleteIt's so wonderful that we know where to go when we are at the beginning of a perilous Reading Slump.
ReplyDeleteDeb, for sure! I am planning to start re-reading ;)
DeleteYou do need a book that cleanses your palate when you're in a slump. Very well stated! I could happily read any of the books on your list. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Lark!
DeleteMost of these books sounds pretty positive. I think upbeat books help with slumps.
ReplyDeleteAnne, so do I!
DeleteI added The All American to my TBR a couple of years ago, and yet to get my hands on it. Fingers crossed I get it this year. I love reading about sports.
